A charming, very fine gold and enamel, concealed dial pendant form watch in the shape of a small wicker basket, studded with half-pearls Case No. 2402, Dimensions 49 x 49 mm, circa 1810, Weight 42 g, Origin Schweiz Case: 18 K gold, enamel, half-pearls. Dial: Gold, guilloché pattern, engraved, satin-finished. Movm.: Full plate movement, keywind, cylinder escapement, three-arm ring balance. By pressing the pusher, the little basket opens, revealing the dial. The rounded top section bears an exceptionally delicate painting: the front depicts apples, pears, and grapes, while the back shows a dove’s nest amid spring flowers. The background is decorated with a fine guilloche pattern and translucent cobalt-blue enamel. The lower section imitates a woven basket: The willow rods are rendered by vertical bars of champlevé enamel and cobalt-blue enamel. The entire basket is richly set with half pearls.
