A very rare Geneva gold and enamel, concealed dial pendant form watch in the shape of turtle doves Movm. No. 38975, Dimensions 40 x 38 mm, circa 1800, Weight 24 g, Origin Schweiz Case: 18 K gold, polychrome enamel. Dial: Enamel. Movm.: Full plate movement, chain/fusee, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance. Both front and back are very carefully moulded in the form of two lovebirds and painted with polychrome enamel; front and back are created as counterparts. The two-part front cover has a spring hinge concealing the dial. A small gold chain is used for carrying the watch. Christian Moricand (1715-1791) was a watchmaker in Geneva who was associated with his brother Benjamin Moricand and François Colladon from 1752 to 1755 . Several other associations followed.
