UNOPENED CAN OF 'BILLY BEER' A vintage unopened, undamaged can of the famous, yet short lived 'Billy Beer'. Inspired by President Jimmy Carter's brother Billy Carter and his well know drinking habits realized by the fame of his older brother being elected to the U.S. Presidency. Jimmy Carter had just got elected to office, and the Fall City Brewing Company had the bright idea of brewing a special beer in honor of the new President. But the beer inspired a scandal as well, while there was no direct evidence of the President influencing policy, a Senate investigation found he was negligent in not distancing himself from his brother's controversial actions, which included excessive drinking and public foolishness, and also from his business dealings in Libya that raised national security concerns. All the politics aside, who doesn't love the story and fun of Billy Beer. This full size, 5 in. tall vintage can features a crimped top end and the long extinct pull tab opener. The famous artwork, which features Billy's endorsement 'I had this beer brewed up just for me. I think it's the best I ever tasted. And I've tasted a lot. I think you'll like it too.' with a facsimile signature from Billy Carter, is painted to a gold anodized aluminum can shows at 99% owing to a few small scratches and dings to the paint. There are no dents to this can. Excellent for it's age.
