작품 상세
Bronze with an excavated patina. Head of Buddha with a serene expression, characterized by half-closed eyes that invite inner contemplation, thin lips that suggest gentle bliss, and a full chin that underscores the harmony of the face. The hair is styled in fine, regular curls, culminating in the ushnisha, a cranial protuberance symbolizing knowledge and spiritual awakening. The proportions are balanced and imbued with spirituality, typical of the statuary of the Chiang Saen kingdom. The surface displays an antique patina in greenish-brown tones, with traces of oxidation and burial that attest to the work's age. Visible damage, breaks, and losses. Formerly in a French collection.
