KETCHAM HANK: (1920-2001) American Cartoonist, creator of Dennis the Menace. A good, vintage original blue pen and ink drawing signed by Ketcham on an oblong 8vo page removed from an autograph album, Monterey, California, 1st June 1953. Ketcham has drawn a sketch of Dennis the Menace walking in a full length pose and holding a baseball bat over one shoulder. In a speech bubble the cartoonist has added an inscription and further added 'Sincere best wishes from Dennis....and his poor ol' dad - Hank Ketcham' in his hand, along with the date 1st June 1953. Accompanied by three other pages removed from the same album, each with various related newspaper clippings attached and one with an affixed T.L.S., Hank Ketcham, one page, small 8vo (neatly, closely trimmed), n.p., 1st June 1953, to Miss. Boxell, sending the drawing. Original signed drawings of Dennis by Ketcham from this early stage of the cartoonist's career are rare. Two file holes to the left edge of each page, otherwise VG
