[Autograph] Leighton, Frederic, Baron Leighton of Stretton (1830-1896). British painter, draughtsman, and sculptor. Autograph Letter Signed, 8vo, 4pp, Tuesday, to Miss Leslie. Returning from a concert, he found her note, but he is resting for a day or two but can be home Wednesday or Thursday. Compliments her on her “lovely gown” she had on last night. States that he prefers a pose “more simple & classical & therefore in my eyes far better… no peacock feathers and silk gown in it.” Framed: 28 1/2" x 26 1/2", with large reproduced image. Condition Sight condition very good, not examined out of frame, letter folded, only a portion shows in the window, not examined out of frame.
