VERLAINE PAUL]: (1844-1896) French Poet. Considered one of the greatest in French poetry. A.N.S., `P. Verlaine´, one page, oblong 12mo, n.p., 23rd December 1891, to Leon Vanier, in French. The autograph document being a receipt issued by Verlaine, acknowledging a payment by his editor Varnier, stating `Reçu de Monsieur Vanier la somme de Dix francs pour 2 pièces en vers´ (`Received from Monsieur Vanier the sum of Ten francs for two works in verses´) The receipt was written to the verso of a printed magazine page. One stain to the front with two extremely small areas of paper loss to the edges. Together with a small original 1.5 x 3 photograph of Verlainepf the Felix Potin´s collection.
