ShiXi, aka Kun Can (Chinese; 1612-1692) Qing Dynasty, Chinese ink and color painting on paper laid to silk, hanging scroll. Hand painted with intensity, subtle brushstroke rhythms and textures, with dense and detailed unity revealed full composition's clarity depicted a sage seeking for tao within misty mountain landscape. Calligraphy inscriptions on upper side, signed by artist, followed by iron-red signature seal. Mounted on creme-teal silk border.
