50mm SOM Berthoit Paris "Flor" f1,5 Nr. 950026, in original Leica screw mount. Discovered in Alexandria, Egypt, a Leica III camera and this lens were left behind in an abandoned apartment and subsequently sold at auction. Between the world wars, Alexandria had a diverse community where photography thrived; Armenian, Greek, and Italian photographers ran prominent studios throughout Alexandria and Cairo. Perhaps this lens was used by a reknowned professional there. A very rare and desirable lens. Condition: Very Good
