Artist: A. M. CASSANDRE (Adolphe Mouron, 1901-1968) Size: Maquette: 9 3/8 x 13 1/2 in./23.6 x 34.5 cm Programe: 9 3/4 x 12 1/2 in./25 x 31.6 cm De Fil en Etoile was a one-night-only theatrical spectacle at the Music-Hall de l'Empire for which Cassandre created not only this programe but also the set design and costumes. It is noted as being "a phantasmagoric world where the fairyland ballet of the baroque tradition vies with the enchantments of folk imagery and the circus" (Mouron, p. 138).
