작품 상세
A unique piece of baseball memorabilia, Victorian Era hand embroidered "OFFICIAL SCORER" cloth banner, ca. 1870's-1900. This is a very rare and nostaglic collectible that typically can only be seen in a museum or private collection, as this is a one of a kind, handmade relic used during the last half of the 19th century. This banner was said to have been used by the St. Louis Perfectos cork ball/baseball club team. Item's such as this rarely exist as they were easily damaged or destroyed, and at the time of use had no collectible factor, so pieces like this one were easily disregarded and/or thrown away after use. The clothing was said to have been purchased from an estate sale or auction some years back, from the St. Louis, Mo area. A complete Victorian Era Baseball uniform, said to have been a St. Louis Perfectos uniform, was also purchased at the time of this sale- please see lot # )
