Presented are four vintage gold photographs of U.S. players Ralph Guldalh, Horton Smith, Jack Nicklas, and Arnold Palmer. The Ralph Guldahl photograph is an International News Photo of Guldahl at the Cherry Creek, CO golf course from 1937, where he won the title of National Open Champion. He is depicted mid-swing with a crowd of onlookers behind him. Stamped on back “International News Photo†with adhered credit and typed copy about the photograph. The Horton Smith photograph is a beautiful 1942 photograph of golf superstar Horton Smith as he participates in the $10,000 Los Angeles Open. Issued by Acme with a full paper caption adhered to the back of the photograph. The 1960’s Jack Nicklaus photograph depicts Nicklaus as he grits his teeth preparing to drive the ball. The photograph was taken by California golf instructor Alexander J. Morrison. Morrison was one of the earliest and most influential golf instructors as well as a pioneer in the use of photography to help analyze a person’s swing. The 1960’s Arnold Palmer photograph is by the famous golf coach and golf photography pioneer Alexander J. Morrison. The photograph depicts Arnold Palmer on the green putting. The photograph is black and white, developed on glossy paper.
