Kurt Cobain Birmingham, England, October 29, 1989 Kurt Cobain Strands of Hair, Collected by his Stylist, CAG Encapsulated Relic Two strands of Kurt Cobain's hair, taken from Cobain during the "Bleach" tour on October 29, 1989. The locks rest on a swatch of black fabric within the slab for better visibility and cannot be viewed from the back. Measuring approximately 1" and 7/8" in length, encapsulated by CAG to the overall size of 2.3/8" x 3.3/8". The hair strands are accompanied by incredible provenance, including copies of pictures where Cobain's hair is being cut by Tessa Osbourne, Cobain's good friend, confidant, and stylist along with a notarized letter written by Nicole DePolo who received the locks of hair as a gift during the second week of April, 1994 days after Kurt's body had been found. Iconic Auctions sold a display that was created prior to the partnership with CAG, with six strands of hair included for $13,800. The sale received incredible press from news sources like TMZ, The Chicago Tribune, Daily Mail, Mirror, Billboard, Yahoo News, Complex, Revolver, Spin, and NME among others.
