Assortment of Canadian identification discs. Lot includes a total of 8 fiber discs; 2 are the green octagonal and 6 the round red discs. This lot includes discs for an officer in the Royal Navy, a woman in the service, 6th Lancers, Canadian Signal Division, a sapper, and infantrymen. Each serviceman wore two discs. In the event of death, the octagonal discs stayed with the body at all times, even if buried in the field, and the round disc was removed so that proper notification could be made to the unit and next of kin.  For discs used in World War One the information was stamped in an arc or curve while the discs used in World War Two were stamped in a straight lines unless the individual's name was too long.  In-house shipping is available. Open pickup is Tuesday, Oct. 29 from Noon to 7 pm at our offices in Carroll, OH 43112 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. We charge $5/lot if you want to pick up a different day.
