American Revolution Revolutionary War Continental Officer's Style Coat and Waistcoat Possibly from the 1876 Centennial Celebration Historic Coat and Waistcoat are modeled after those worn by the Officers of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, its design and cloth may be earlier than being from the 1876 Centennial Celebration period, Very Fine. This Revolutionary War Continental Officer's Style Coat and Waistcoat features a vintage cotton-lined blue wool coat, a buff colored wool waistcoat, lace cuffs, and pockets in each tail. The coat is double breasted with buff-colored wool facings, trims, cuffs, and lining with fine lace sleeve ends. The waistcoat is missing four of its nine flat buttons, and the coat bears evidence of several buttons being removed. The coat's chest measures 21" seam to seam (42" total). The sleeves are 22" long. The waistcoat shares the coat's chest dimensions and is 23" top to bottom. Overall, historic and authentic in vintage design and appearance enjoying nice eye appeal for any Revolutionary War era collection or display. Ex: Virginia History Museum display.
