Ca. AD 1450 - 1500 A medieval steel sallet helmet, a style popular in Western and Central Europe during the mid-to-late fifteenth century. Helmets of this type were often paired with a bevor (throat defence) and a visor. The shell on this example is pierced to rivet on a visor and an internal liner. Restored. Size: 350mm x 200mm; Weight: 1.6kg. Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Germany; formerly with H. Ulreich collection, Munich, 1960s-1970s.
