A naval yataghan with ornate chased decoration of vegetal scrolls, banners, and military trophies. The spine of the scabbard bears two stamps (tughras) of Sultan Selim III (1789–1807). The blade is Damascus steel with maker’s mark. Where it joins the grip, two long silver mounts feature chased garlands and plant motifs. length: 89 cm.
