An Ottoman Turkish Yataghan with a silver inlaid Arabic inscription in a circular border near the forte of the blade. This blade with a straight back, unlike most yataghans with recurved blades. The blade bears a circular silver-inlaid talismanic medallion executed in stylized Arabic script, likely pseudo-calligraphic or containing a short devotional formula, set within a chased roundel. The hilt comprised of repousse decorated brass set with red and green stones, coral, and applied beadwork and rings. The grip having two bone grip scales in the characteristic eared shape.
