작품 상세

A rare and historically significant Arabian sword, composed of a locally made 18th-century Yemeni hilt and scabbard, paired with a much earlier Mamluk-era or Central Islamic blade dating to the 14th century. This weapon exemplifies the Arab tradition of preserving ancient blades, particularly those associated with Islamic dynasties (Mamluk, Seljuk, early Ottoman). The reuse of a 14th-century blade in an 18th-century Yemeni hilt reflects both deep reverence for ancestral arms and the regional custom of reusing war blades across generations.
