This example was likely produced some time between the end of the 1700s and middle of the 1800s. The weapon is of characteristic form, with a long, forward curving blade, its edge being on the inside of the curve, the spine being flattened. The blade ends in a widened, scalloped tip, decorated with a small engraved floral motif. The hilt is comprised of a hollow steel cylinder with two disc shaped guards and a shallow rounded pommel with a chased rim, all with scattered remnants of gilding. Nepal, 18th or 19th century.
