ALEXANDER BENOIS 1870-1960 (Alexandre Nikolayevich Benois) St Petersburg 1870-1960 Paris (Russian) Title: Dame de Cour, for the Ballet Sleeping Beauty, 1953 Technique: Original Signed and Dated Gouache and Pencil Drawing on paper Size: 23.8 x 16.3 cm / 9.3 x 6.4 in Additional Information: This original drawing is signed and dated by the artist with his initials "A. B 1953" in the middle right part. This is probably a costume design for one of the characters in the first act made by Benois for the ballet "La Bella Addormentata" (The Sleeping Beauty) in 1953. This design was made for the an unrealised production of Sleeping Beauty, a project for La Scale, Milan in 1953. Music by P. I. Tchaikovsky, choreography by M. Petipa. Condition: Good Condition. Two pieces of tapes on the upper part at the verso. Some traces of ink at the verso as well.
