Faile, Peter Klashorst, Untitled, Stenciled 'FAILE'.The work by Faile and Peter Klashorst was painted on an old door of the Stedelijke Museum in Amsterdam.FAILE is the Brooklyn-based artistic collaboration between Patrick McNeil (°1975) and Patrick Miller (°1976). The duo's work uses imagery associated with popular culture to examine complex, and often neglected, metaphysical issues facing the artists' epoch: spirituality, heroism, unconditional love, a greater moral purpose. Since its inception in 1999, FAILE has been known for a multimedia practice recognizable for its fragmented style of appropriation and collage.Peter Klashorst is a Dutch artist who became a personality of the art movement New Wild Ones in the early eighties. As his heroes, the poet Arthur Rimbaud and the painter Paul Gauguin, he is attracted to the exotic lifestyle. He spent many years in Africa and Cambodia.
