Vautier began to develop his own style, inspired by the artist Yves Klein, the Dada artist Marcel Duchamp and the Nouveaux Réalistes. Utterances painted in cursive writing on mostly black ground became a distinguishing feature of his art. From 1958 to 1973, the artist ran a record store, the façade and interior of which he designed himself. Ben, as he signs many of his works, presented his first solo exhibition on the first floor. From 1962 to 1970, Vautier was a member of the Fluxus movement and participated in festivals, public appearances and performances. In 1972, he participated in the documenta 5 in Kassel. Ben Vautier still lives and works in Nice. (cko) Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
