James George Morphesis (American, b. 1948), "Meat Study, #104," 2005, mixed media and collage on paper, title label affixed verso, overall (with frame): 27"h x 21.75"w. Provenance: Collection of Peter Selz (Berkeley, California). Mr. Selz taught at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1965-1988 where he concurrently served as founder and director of the university art museum from 1965-1973. Before joining UC Berkeley, Selz served as Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, New York from 1958-1965.
