Lot consists of an original mixed media painting by David Aronson (Mass, New York, 1923-2015). Encaustic on masonite (hot wax), titled "The Young Christ". Signed lower right. Painting has 5 Exhibition labels on the verso (1 on back ofmasonite, 4 affixed to thick board) Niveau Gallery, San Francisco Museum of Art 1947, Museum of Modern Art 1945, The Jewish Museum 1979, and Institute of Modern Art. There is also a Ford Foundation Program for Artists label. Some of thelabels read "Oil" and some are marked "Encaustic". Approx. 15" x 26" image size seen, overall frame size approx. 22" x 33.5".
