Provenance: Private Collection Lancashire-born Neil Shawcross has been resident in Northern Ireland since 1962, when he took up a part-time teaching job at the Belfast College of Art. He has thrived in Belfast where, as a painter with the instincts of a brilliant graphic designer, he's specialised in still life and portraiture. As has been widely noted, his work is unfailingly good-natured and wears its technical sophistication lightly. Red is his favourite colour, with green running a close second.
