Style Of Cahoon, 20th Century Sailors Valentine By Mary Page, Bryn Mawr, PA. Dated in painting 1988, card affixed verso: "Up, up and away", L. Rodman + Mary Page. The shell mosaic in an octagonal box under glass. Some say that this shape comes from the compass boxes which served to protect one of the ship's most valuable assets: the compass. Very good condition. Box measures 15" x 15" x 1-3/4" D. The round center painting measures 4" diameter.
