Franz Vinzenz Dressler* (Krems 1918 - 2002) Abstract composition mixed media/paper 52,4 x 34 cm signed F. Born in Krems an der Donau in 1918, he completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic and was seriously wounded in the Second World War (1941), after which he studied at the German Academy of Fine Arts from 1943 onwards. A member of the Wachau Artists' Association, he received the Lower Austria Culture Prize in 1964 and was considered an important representative of post-war painting in the region. Dressler created landscapes and motifs of the Wachau region with impressionist and expressionist elements, exhibited in Krems and regional galleries.
