Walrus tusk specimen featuring a beautiful carved relief depicting an eagle with a fish in its talons, an owl, and a crane or heron, facing upwards towards the tip of the tusk, with the details of the feathers and the scales intricately carved. It is signed "Pelowook" at the tip by a member of the Siberian Yup'ik family of artists from Savoonga, St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. It has a small spot of discoloration on the owl's wing; there are deep fissures on the bottom, along with what appear to be spots where stickers or labels were affixed. The tusk measures approximately 2" x 1" x 23.75" in total length.
