A very good quality traditional Yup'ik hunter doll, dated 1973, by artist Rosalie A. Chanerak of Toksook Bay, Nelson Island, Alaska. The doll is handcrafted, wearing a thick black rabbit-fur parka and cap, seal-fur mukluks with hide soles, and purple corduroy pants. Its tools are made from wood with tusk or bone spear tips; its head is also crafted from wood, written in a commissioned letter as being carved by the artist's father. Doll measures approximately 9" x 3" x 15" tall.
