Dr. Robert Thornton, publisher THE CHINA LIMODORON Hand-colored color etching, aquatint and stipple engraving by Landseer after Henderson, from The Temple of Flora, London, 1802, lightstain and matstain, affixed with tape along part of top sheet edge recto to back mat (with some associated tapestaining), some stitch holes at left sheet edge (with some associated small tears and losses), a horizontal (printer's?) crease in the right margin extending into the image, handling creases, a few other small losses and tears at sheet edges (longest tear 3/4 inch), otherwise in good condition, with (full?) margins, framed. 20 3/4 x 16 inches; 527 x 406 mm.
