A 19th Century Halifax Red Earthenware Bird Whistle dripped in manganese glaze on a cream slip ground and modelled as a perched bird; it's tail forming the mouthpiece, flanked by two tiers of small subsidiary birds above a conical base encrusted with knobbly branch stumps, 8¼'' (21 cm) high.
