A Large 18th Century Polychrome Delft Tankard. The hinged pewter lid relief moulded with a figural medallion to the centre encircled by motto; CONSILIO ET INDUSTRIA (by reason and industry), and stamped with three punchmarks with initials IFS and dates 1670 and 1661, the handle surmounted by a bold ball finial thumb piece. The cylindrical vessel painted with floral sprigs against powdered manganese ground in D-ended panels flanked by urns of yellow, blue and green glazed flowers, 10½'' (27 cm) high.
