Collection of 14 Vintage English transferware porcelain plates/bowls. This blue transferware dinner plate in Tonquin pattern by Royal Staffordshire, England was made and signed Clarice Cliff, while she was Art Director. Clarice Cliff (January 1899 – October 1972) was an English ceramic artist and designer. Active from 1922 to 1963, Cliff became the head of the Newport Pottery factory creative department. Clarice Cliff is, today, regarded as one of the most influential ceramics artists of the 20th Century. Lot includes: 1.) Two 9 7/8" Grindley Tonquin Royal Staffordshire plates, five 6.5" plates, four 6" bowls. 2.) Three Liberty Blue 6" plates.
