This mask is crafted to emulate a buffalo with a triangular protruding snout, pointed ears, and circular horns. It has concentric eyes and patterns along rectangular planes to emphasize and exaggerate its size. White kaolin and red, and black vegetal and mineral pigment completes the mask. This exact item was previously offered at Bonham's with Henri Kamer provenance stating that it was collected in the early 1970's.
