Large three-legged �calabaza� vessel. Colima culture, approx. 100 BC�300 AD. Height 21,5 cm, diameter 36,8 cm. Fired clay, red polished. Monumental vessel with a squat, spherical, ribbed body and freely conical, slightly outward-sloping feet. The wide, short neck with a rounded lip sits centrally on the sculpturally modelled, horizontally ribbed wall. The surface has an even, deep red polish with a fine, shimmering engobe, interspersed with manganese spots.With TL certification from the Ralf Kotalla laboratory!Minor superficial signs of age and deposits in the recesses. Small holes on the feet. Otherwise in excellent condition. Großes dreifüßiges "Calabaza"-Gefäß. Colima-Kultur, ca. 100 v. Chr. - 300 n. Chr. H 21,5cm, ø 36,8cm. Gebrannter Ton, rotpoliert. Monumentales Gefäß mit gedrungenem, kugelig-rippigen Körper und frei konisch auslaufenden, leicht auswärts gestellten Füßen. Der weite, kurze Hals mit rundem Lippenrand sitzt zentral auf der plastisch modellierten, horizontal gerippten Wandung.
