Jais Nielsen (Danish, 1885–1961): For Royal Copenhagen, Denmark, the sides carved in high relief with two male figures and an angel, with a glazed cover with a bird. Designed and made circa 1930s-40s. The base incised "2375" and "JAIS" into the white clay under a clear glaze with underglaze blue painted "Three Waves" mark and "97/2375"; a green Royal Copenhagen mark above at unglazed foot rim. The cover rim incised "Jais" with blue "Three Waves" mark and green Royal Copenhagen seal. Good condition. Height with cover 9 7/8 inches (25.2 cm.) X width 7 inches (18 cm.).
