Berlin KPM Porcelain Plaque After Rembrandt, Late 19th Century A fine Berlin (Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur, K.P.M.) oval porcelain plaque, late 19th century, finely painted after Rembrandt's famous composition "The Prodigal Son in the Tavern." The scene portrays the artist with his wife Saskia, both dressed in 17th-century costume, depicted as a jovial cavalier and maiden seated in an interior. The plaque bears the impressed scepter mark over KPM and other incised numerals and marks to the reverse. Housed in a gilt and velvet-matted carved wood frame. Plaque size: 10 3/4 x 8 3/4 in.
