A Pair of Vienna-Style Porcelain Dark-Blue Ground Vases and Covers Circa 1900, with painted blue shield marks Very fine hand-painted decoration all around, featuring exquisite neoclassical and mythological scenes in rich polychrome and gilt. Each scene is titled on the underside, such as "Phrizia verkundet Apollos Wahrspruche" and "Augustus schlieft..." Each vase of baluster form with angular handles and domed covers, decorated with tooled gilt floral and scroll motifs on a deep cobalt blue ground. Raised on square plinth bases, further adorned with finely painted allegorical panels. Condition: Excellent overall, with minor expected wear consistent with age.
