Fine French Sevres-Style Porcelain and Gilt Bronze Mounted Vase, 19th Century A superb quality 19th-century French porcelain vase in the Sevres style, featuring rich hand-painted decoration and finely cast gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts. The front displays a beautifully painted romantic scene of a young couple in 18th-century attire, framed within a raised gilt cartouche. The reverse shows a pastoral landscape with a chateau and trees, also framed with gold detailing. The vase is finished in a deep rose ground with elaborate white and gold panels, and mounted with ornate ormolu handles and a shaped bronze base. The bottom bears a blue pseudo-Sevres mark (interlaced L's), typical of high-quality 19th-century French porcelain in the Sevres manner. Height: 17 in. (43.2 cm) Condition: Excellent overall condition. No chips, cracks, or restoration. Gilding and painting in very good condition.
