Zustände von diesem Motiv aus. Ursprünglich als eine Komposition mit fünf Farben auf fünf Zinkplatten gedacht, setzte Picasso die Arbeit auf den Platten getrennt in Schwarz-Weiss fort. Laut Brigitte Baer wurde der falsche Abklatsch des V. Zustandes der Rotplatte auf Umdruckpapier vorgenommen und auf Zink übertragen. Dargestellt ist Françoise Gilot im "Manteau polonais", dem Ledermantel mit weiten Ärmeln und Stickereien, den Picasso ihr von seiner Reise mit Paul Éluard zum Friedenskongress in Polen im August und September 1948 mitgebracht hatte. Exemplar ausserhalb der Auflage von 50 Exemplaren. Es ist an Gaston Tutin dediziert, einem Drucker im Atelier Mourlot, den Picasso besonders wegen seiner Fähigkeiten schätzte und dem er mehrmals einen Abzug schenkte. Originally conceived as a composition with five colours on five zinc plates, Picasso continued working on the plates separately in black and white. According to Brigitte Baer, the incorrect transfer of the fifth state of the red plate was made on transfer paper and then transferred to zinc. Depicted is Françoise Gilot wearing the 'manteau polonais', a leather coat with wide sleeves and embroidery that Picasso bought for her on his trip with Paul Éluard to the Peace Congress in Poland in August and September 1948.
