Total dimensions, incl. plinth: 35 x 12.7 x 28 cm (height x width x depth) Very good condition Provenance: German private collection In his bronze sculptures the artist Hans Müller was capable to capture the typical features of the depicted in an exceptional way; his bronzes reach up to more than 4,000 Euros on the international auction market The Austrian sculptor Hans Müller, who is very renowned for his monuments, created this very fine sculpture of bronze. Depicted here is the Emperor Franz Joseph I. (1830-1916), riding a horse, with binoculars in his right hand. The sculpturally high-quality crafted figurine expresses the dignity of the Emperor Franz Joseph I. in a superb manner. The artist's signature is located on the rare left on the plinth 'H. Müller'. The bronze figurine is mounted on the original Rosso Verona marble plinth. The object is in very good condition with minimal traces, the front corners of the plinth show tiny nicks. The total dimensions, including the plinth, are 35 x 12.7 x 28 cm (height x width x depth). Hans Müller (1873-1937) The Austrian sculptor Hans Müller was the son of the sculptor Franz Xaver Müller. Hans began to train at the Vienna Arts College at August Kühne, and afterwards went to the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. The Academy honoured him with a series of awards. After graduating from university, Hans was employed in the studio of Friedrich Christoph Hausmann. During the First World War, he was in charge of the facilities of soldier cemeteries. After the war, he became well-known for monuments and grave sculptures, as well as sculptural works for housing in Vienna.
