Ulrich Rückriem (b. 1938) The German sculptor Ulrich Rückriem, living in Cologne, is an important representative of minimalism and concept art. At the beginning of the 1960s, Rückriem decided to dedicate his life to sculpting, after travelling in Southern Europe and Northern Africa for several time. His first solo show took place in Leopold-Hoesch Museum in Düren around 1963. There were several important exhibitions such as for example his participation in documenta 5, 7, 8 and 9 in Kassel.
