Sautner 1939’ On a double-stepped, octagonal rectangular socket sitting mother with her child and a ball Dimensions (incl. socket): 34 x 38.7 x 17.7 cm Detailed elaborated figure group of a mother with her ball playing child Condition: The figure group is in good condition. Tension cracks of age in the wood and minimal scratches in the surface of the wood are shown in places. The surface with scattered minimal abrasion. The fingers of the left hand of the child are missing. Restorations can be found on the right upper leg and on the right arm of the mother. The areas of the edges and corners of the socket with partial minimal abrasions, scratches and bumpings. Franz Sautner (1872-1945) The Austrian genre painter and sculptor Franz Sautner, who came native from Bohemia, studies at the Academy for Visual Arts in Vienna. He exhibited his works on the anniversary exhibition of the Viennese art community in 1929. Sautner was a member of the Albrecht-Dürer-Society, of the Viennese Artists Bound of Austrian Sculptors and of the Community of Visual Artists after 1938.
