One of the leading French sculptures of the late 19th century. " VENUS ON THE HALF SHELL" Gilt bronze nude, on an alabaster shell, seated on a bronze platform. Screaming Art Nouveau. This lovely piece is signed on the shell and was done at the Thiebault Freres foundry in Paris. Measures approx. 9 1/2" height x 5" width x 5" depth (24.1cm x 12.7cm x 12.7cm).
