A Young Firefighter (JSP) must be between 11 and 18 years old. Training takes place over 4 years and is divided into 4 modules. Among other sporting events, the JSP must run a two-and-a-half-stroke race by pulling a 100 kg reel. At the end of the training and from the age of 15, the candidate obtains a National Certificate of Young Firefighter (JSP), after successfully passing all theoretical, practical and sporting tests. This certification is required to become a volunteer or professional firefighter and is considered a major asset in the field.
