Lying peasant woman. Bronze. Sign. H. 21 cm. Gregor Kruk was a student of Arno Breker at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin and, as a special appreciation of his teacher, was given a studio in Wriezen / Oder. Kruk had been working in Munich since the 1950s. Breker compares Kruk stylistically with Barlach and points out the closeness to one of his role models, Maillol.
