Petr Hora (Czech, b. 1949) #49, 2018 Cast glass 20 x 11 x 3 inches (50.8 x 27.9 x 7.6 cm) Signed and dated by the artist Petr Hora began his studies at the Applied College of Glass-making in Zelezny Brod, the Czech Republic, where contemporary Czech glass art pioneers such as Stanislav Libensky was the Director. After working as the Director of the Beranek glass factory in Skrdlovice, Hora established his own studio. His sculptures are characterized by their monochromatic, elemental shapes and modern architectonic forms. His work has been exhibited internationally and is represented in the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh; the Chrysler Museum of Art, Virginia; The Corning Museum of Glass, New York; and The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Florida, among other museum and private collections.
