Very fine overall condition Erläuterungen / Comments Jesús Rafael Soto gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Vertreter der kinetischen Kunst und "Optical Art" in Südamerika und Europa. Obwohl er offiziell keiner bestimmten Gruppe angehörte, sah er sich in der Nähe von zwei unterschiedlichen Kunstbewegungen: Den Nouveaux Réalistes in Paris und der Düsseldorfer Gruppe Zero. Seine "Vibrationsbilder", bestehend aus dünnen, in Reihen angeordneten Pendelstäbchen, die vor fein gestreiften, ebenen Flächen befestigt werden, gehören zu den wichtigsten Errungenschaften der "Op-Art". Beim hier angebotenen Werk sind die Metallstäbchen zusätzlich in den Raum greifend angeordnet, was die Sehgewohnheiten irritiert und herausfordert. Das Spiel der Stäbchen vor dem weissen Grund, der in der unteren rechten Ecke zusätzlich gestreift ist, evoziert förmlich ein Flimmern des Gemäldes. Eine wunderbare Arbeit optisch-kinetischer Kunst des bedeutenden Künstlers. Jesús Rafael Soto is widely regarded as one of the most important representatives of kinetic and optical art in both South America and Europe. Although he did not officially belong to any particular group, he felt a close affinity with two different art movements: the Nouveaux Réalistes in Paris and the Düsseldorf group Zero. His 'vibration pictures', consisting of thin pendulum rods arranged in rows and attached in front of finely striped, flat surfaces, are among the most significant achievements of Op Art. In the work offered here, the metal rods extend into the space, irritating and challenging the viewer's visual habits. The interplay of the rods against the white background, which is also striped in the lower right corner, creates the effect of the painting flickering. A wonderful work of optical-kinetic art by this important artist.
