Dale Chihuly (American, b. 1941), “Seaform” Art Glass Group, 1985, Eight Pieces, Signed and Dated, Exceptional eight-piece art glass “Seaform” group by internationally celebrated American glass artist Dale Chihuly, dated 1985, a highly desirable early period. This dynamic assemblage includes a large undulating Seaform bowl accompanied by seven complementary Seaform elements, each exhibiting Chihuly’s signature layered construction with finely controlled internal striping, organic undulating rims, and vibrant iridescent coloration. The palette features translucent aquas, sea greens, smoky ambers, and warm earth tones, all accented by contrasting red rimlines and rhythmic wave-like cane patterning. Several components display Chihuly’s characteristic optic ribbing and pulled-lip forms, while the spherical and domed elements show meticulous internal line work and controlled symmetry. The group creates a cohesive sculptural presence when displayed together, yet each piece stands independently as a finished work of studio glass. The large 20" piece is signed and dated “Chihuly 1985”, consistent with known marking practices of the period. The Seaform series is among Chihuly’s most iconic bodies of work, inspired by marine life and executed with exceptional technical mastery. Each piece is in excellent condition with no damage...no chips, cracks or repairs. Condition as seen in photos provided
